Since I started my own Band back in 2003 I have always enjoyed featuring a variety of singers and instrumentalists at each and every show. Having no less than a 6 piece Band with at least 3 vocalists at all times has been a successful formula for the Randy Oxford Band.
Knowing so many fantastic Musicians here in the pacific NW and all around north America has inspired me to present a series of All-Star shows in 2016. I started testing this concept last December at shows in Alberta, Canada and Montana, then more recently at the Walla Walla Guitar Festival in April. Festival director Robin Barrett suggested I call this show "Randy Oxford's All-Star Slam" and the name stuck for the 2016 Festival season.
In July we are bringing in Legendary Soul/Blues singer (from Minneapolis) Wee Willie Walker for shows at the Highway 99 Club on July 15th, Jazzbones onJuly 16th and the Winthrop Rhythm & Blues festival on July 17th. Wee Willie was nominated this year for 3 Blues music awards through the Blues foundation out of Memphis, TN. His latest release "If nothing ever changes" is highly acclaimed and we'll be featuring songs from this CD and much more.
The All-Star Slam Band for these shows will be bursting with talent with the likes of CD Woodbury, Willy Straub, Eddie Mendoza, Patrick McDanel, and a 3 piece horn section reunited from my days with Little Bill & the Blue Notes with Brian Kent and Hadi Al-Saadoon. Joining this ensemble for the Winthrop show will be Peter Dammann, Jim Pugh and Angelo Ortiz making it a 10 piece All-Star Slam Band! OH THE HUMANITY!
More All-Star Slam shows can be seen at The Rockcut Blues festival, Jazz in the Valley, the Seattle waterfront concert series, the Rendezvous festival, the Everett Waterfront concert series, the Flathead Valley Blues festival, the Poverty Bay Blues festival, Pig out in the Park and many more dates TBA. In addition to the above lineup we will add even more Musicians for these shows that include Aury Moore, Lissa Ramaglia, Geoffrey Castle, Robin Barrett, Tiphony Dames and several surprise guests too.
As a Band leader I am in heaven having this opportunity to feature so much talent. I have future plans to feature a variety of more Musicians from around the country and from my past Randy Oxford Band lineups as well. Music4Life & Oxford Entertainment Team Up for Kids

Oxford Entertainment is teaming up with Seattle-based Music4Life™ to provide ready-to-play musical instruments to students in need.  The announcement comes from Randy Oxford, a noted blues instrumentalist and member of the Washington State Blues Hall of Fame, and David Endicott, President/CEO of Music4Life.

“Lovingly used musical instruments that adults have in their garages or attics or financial resources to buy new instruments as schools tell us of their needs.  Randy Oxford can help us fill both needs.  We are most grateful for his support.”

Music4Life™ (www.Music4Life.org ) provides musical instruments to participating schools for students in need.  The Seattle-based non-profit acquires “lovingly used” musical instruments from adults who no longer need them, gets them repaired and then provides them to participating public school districts for use by students who need them.  Besides Seattle Public Schools, Music4Life also operates programs supporting Edmonds, Highline, Mukilteo and Shoreline Public Schools.  The program acquires used instruments from adults who understand that their highest and best use is to put them back into play.  With adequate financial resources, Music4Life also buys new musical instruments for school districts.

"I am a full time professional musician, band leader, concert promoter, producer and booking agent,” Oxford says.  “I travel quite a bit for my music career and have made contacts in the business throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Central America and beyond. Music4Life is such a great organization for helping students.

Finding donated instruments for kids is a natural thing for me to do because I have so many contacts in the music business.  In addition to having been inducted into the Washington state Blues Society hall of fame, since the year 2000 I have been the recipient of multiple music awards from the Washington Blues Society, including the Life Time Achievement, Keeping the Blues Alive, Entertainer of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year, Best Band and Best Northwest Recording awards. The Randy Oxford Band has also represented the Pacific NW numerous times at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN that is put on by the Blues Foundation based in Memphis. "My participation at the IBC has resulted in major music festival performances in multiple countries.”

Besides leading his own projects, including The Randy Oxford Band and Randy Oxford's All-Star Slam, for the past ten years Oxford has been hosting pro-am jams on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise that sails out of Ft. Lauderdale and throughout the Caribbean each January and October.  He is also a member of the prestigious Bender Brass in Las Vegas for the annual Big Blues Bender that takes place every September. Oxford continues to look for opportunities to showcase youth musicians whenever possible. His company, Oxford Entertainment, is dedicated to helping young musicians through workshops, finding instruments and showcasing young talent.

Music4Life™ is supported in part by grants from the Hazel Miller Foundation, First Choice Health; 4Culture (the former Seattle-King County Arts Commission); the Knossos Foundation; various local Rotary and Kiwanis clubs; the Highline Schools Foundation; Nina McLemore LLC; as well as by the law firm of Garvey Schubert Barer; Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Rafael Carrabba Violins, the Newspapers in Education Program of The Seattle Times, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 88.5 KPLU Radio, Kennelly Keys Music stores, Music & Arts stores, Hammond Ashley Violins in Issaquah, the Guitar Center stores, Randy Oxford Entertainment and others.

Music4Life™ provides musical instruments to participating schools for students in need.  Participating schools include Seattle, Edmonds, Highline, Mukilteo and Shoreline public school districts.  A community-wide activity, participants are local leaders who understand the unique role that participation in instrumental music has on the life and education of a child.

For more information or to donate an instrument to Music4Life, contact DavidEndicott@Live.com, call (206) 409-3275 or go to our Website at www.Music4Life.org Instrument donation forms are available online, as well as at designated instrument drop-off sites.
